Argentine Patagonia.

"Catching first glimpse on my predawn approach, Mount Fitz Roy stopped me in my tracks consuming the horizon and commanding awe for those who look upon her."

Departing the bustle of BA and the quaint cafes of Colonia, it was time to head down to the main destination. Hoping 3 flights via Mendozza and Santiago, I arrived in the frontier city of Punta Arenas to pick up my car and begin the great Patagonia road trip. Hitting the open the road, the landscape slowly built into the crescendo that is Santa Cruz's Ruta 23. First stop El Chalten!
Arriving at dusk and setting out at 4am by headlamp to capture sunrise, stoke levels and anticpition were all time.  Catching first glimpse on my predawn approach, Mount Fitz Roy stopped me in my tracks consuming the horizon and commanding awe for those who look upon her.
After setting up base camp and brewing up some much needed coffee, the trek continued on in search of the sun. Mesmerized by the light passing through the Fitz Roy range, exhaustion washed over me and I awoke to last light fading over Laguna Sucia.
This time at Fitz Roy, chasing the light sunrise to sunset, day by day, traversing this terrain and putting hours in these mountains capturing moments has been nothing short of incredible. Packing up camp begins the trip on to Cerro Torre.
Trekking through the vast Los Glaciares National Park, the trip over to camp traveled a variety of terrain. In no way did first glimpse of Cerro Torre disappoint through valley views of the gnarled and windswept landscape Patagonia is famous for.
Sunrises at the Laguna and searching out alternate perspectives by day. Cerro Torre and it's glacial field crashing into the waters bellow, the profound allure of this place, in stillness and silence, in harshness and rugged grace.
Utter contentment coursing through these veins and there is still Patagonia's Chilean side in which to play. Onwards, before the border crossing closes for the day.
